Dear FCYSO Parents -
It is always a good idea to launch the season on a positive note. Therefore, with the start of the new Fort Calhoun Youth Sports Organization (FCYSO), I could not think of a better opportunity to explain the organization's foundational purpose.
Purpose
FCYSO’s purpose is to create a youth sports program based upon the ideals of good sportsmanship, integrity, personal responsibility, self-sacrifice, and teamwork taught through organized athletic activities. Our primary goal is to foster these qualities within each individual. The organization will not place a priority on winning and will not tolerate a win at all costs attitude among its membership.
Rules of Conduct
The purpose is outlined within the FCYSO constitution, which also includes the rules of conduct. The FCYSO is a recreational league designed to foster a helpful team environment among the players, coaches, families and the community. All persons associated with FCYSO activities are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is conducive to good sportsmanship. Encouragement is the key to fostering positive self-esteem and motivation. The conduct of fans and coaches alike should exhibit positive and encouraging statements. Player instructions are to come solely from the coaches and the calls by the officials are final. Coaches and officials need positive support and respect as well. Remember, children learn from what they see, so please model appropriate behavior at all times.Personally, I am extremely excited about the 2008 season that is now upon us. I know I speak for the entire FCYSO Board when I say that the number one reason we are here is because of the children. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.For the love of the game,
Kristy L. Bolen
