2011 Letter from the President

Wow what a great year for FCYSO!  Thanks to all of volunteers, sponsors, coaches, team parents and to the children for making 2011 such a successful year for our organization. Without everyone’s efforts, dedication and time our organization could not exist!

A few of 2011 highlights for the year...

  • FCYSO hosted two Pony league tournaments for the Mustang and Pony boys’ baseball teams through the 100 degree plus weather!  What a long 12 day tournament but we raised a lot of money for improvements to our programs and facilities!
  • This year we added dugouts and fencing to the t-ball fields for our younger players (to be completed before the start of the season.)
  • We made our baseball field dugouts safe by adding fencing to the fronts so they are now protected dugouts.  Posts are in and fencing will be added before high school baseball begins this Spring.
  • We provided two wind weighted tarps (home plate and pitcher’s mound) for the baseball field to provide coverage from the elements which will allow us to play scheduled games when it rains.  Our hope is to purchase some for each field each year!
  • Purchased L-Screens for several of the fields to protect players and coaches during practices
  • Supported football teams at each age group and expanded our football helmet, jersey and pad inventory to cover more than 75 kids.
  • Youth Cheerleading program expanded to 18 girls and they did a fabulous job!
  • Basketball equipment for our first season of FCYSO in an organized basketball league.
  •  Our concession and volunteer program was very successful in 2011 so we will continue with the Team Parent concept again in 2012.  We will need Team Parents for each team for each sport.  Please consider volunteering as Team Parent for your child’s team.
  • We continued to provide concessions at the JC Field with our Pepsi trailer.
  • Offer reduced registration fees and scholarships to families with financial needs.

I am pleased to announce the 2012 FCYSO Board and Directors recently elected or re-elected.  Lot’s of new faces and will expect great things out of the new board:

2011 begins our fifth year as an organization.  It will be another great year of sportsmanship, teamwork, integrity, and growth for our FCYSO program.  The new Board and Directors look forward to working with our sponsors, coaches, volunteers, and kids in another successful year of sports!

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the FCYSO Board since its inception.  We have expanded and grown our programs and offerings over the years and I wish all the new members many years of success!
